A fun and experimental 2 day workshop for those who would like to take a deep dive into painting with oil and cold wax. This is an amazingly versatile medium, transforming how we can use oil paint and offering new ways to develop and ‘disrupt’ surfaces.
The workshop will explore various techniques and processes such as layering, mark-making, embedding dry media and removing paint with solvent [low odour]. We will also explore glazes, blending and cover technical aspects relating to tools, surfaces, colour, values, textures, and composition.
You will be encouraged to work more instinctively, to push boundaries and discover new ways of working, allowing the medium to lead you through a process of exploration and experimentation and, if desired, abstraction.
Experience
Some prior experience of oil and cold wax is beneficial but not essential. If you have attended my 1-day Cold Wax Introduction workshop, this is the perfect follow-on.
