In this full-day workshop I will be demonstrating my expressive approach to landscape painting. You will begin the day by gathering reference material in the grounds of the Abbey, followed by a brief demonstration and, after completing some compositional exercises, you will begin work on your own painting.

During the workshop you will be encouraged to explore techniques on building layers and depth, colour mixing and tone, using acrylic paint and mediums as well as experimenting with other media such as charcoal, inks and pastels. If you prefer to work in oil, please ensure that no solvents are used.

 Who Will it Suit?

Whilst not a beginners workshop it will suit most abilities, including those who wish to move away from detailed work towards a more expressive way of working.
